Disputes and Complaints - Public Resource

Have a dispute or need to file a complaint?

We have recently added this page for any consumer that need immediate and direct access to resources to address disputes and complaints.  This is not a Beautiful Bengals specific resource and can be used to address any TICA and TIBCS registered breeder at any time!

Catteries can be registered with TICA and TIBCS.  If a Cattery is registered with TIBCS, it would be in your best interest to follow all links labeled "TIBCS."  If a Cattery is registered with TICA only, follow the appropriate links labeled TICA.  The following information is itemized by the appropriate association.  Consider following the steps in the order indicated (1 – 3).

 1. The links below will guide you to specific documents that will help you understand how to identify a "Reputable Breeder" and, the "Code of Ethics" outlines some expectations.  With this information at hand, try resolving the issue with the breeder before going on to step 2.

(NOTE: Please keep in mind that TICA is a registry service. This may pose some limitations to their ability to assist in your complaints. Alternative action may be required)

 2. If there is no resolution with step 1, “Contact the TICA Regional Director” (For the northeast region email concerns to: regional.director.ne@tica.org)  For other regions, click here.  For TIBCS complaints go directly to step 3.  If there is no resolution with the TICA regional director, you can file a formal complaint by following step 3.

 3. The Formal Complaint processes:  If a breeder is registered with TIBCS, it is recommended that the consumer uses the TIBCS "dispute process."  If the breeder is registered with TICA only, then follow the TICA links to understand the steps taken by TICA and access to the Complaint form.

 Along with your complaint, please be prepared to validate some (if not all) of the following forms of supportive documentation such as:

• Copies of letters between yourself and the other party.
• Veterinary statements and receipts, health certificates, shipping receipts.
• Signed witness statements.
• Owner registration slips.
• Canceled checks.
• Anything that will help you prove your side of the story.
